What if Jack Crawford kept his promise to Alana? What if, when Will says he can’t do this any more, Jack lets him go back to teaching? A season one AU in which Will spends more time forging a real relationship with Abigail. And of course Hannibal’s spending more time with Abigail too…

Eeeeee! I just finished reading The Borderland State by nekosmuse. Set several years after series one, it is just as twisted, mesmerising, and full of creepy-obsessive mindfuckery as the show. If you like the series, read and have fun!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] louiselux for the original rec.

OMG Fic

Well, it's been two years. I knew this was going to be a long one, and I knew it would take me a while to write, with so many other RL factors cutting in on writing time. But I was originally thinking more like a year, not two.

Anyway, with massive help from Solo and Julia and Lady Ganesh on the editing, it's done, as close to my satisfaction as it's ever likely to get. The sixth in the 'Wires' series from Robert Rodriguez's crazy, glorious, twisted Mexico - more Sands/El, more foul language and all that other stuff, and finally, for the first time in way too long in this LJ, more gay porn.

Bound

Finally!

I finished a fic - wow! For the first time in over 18 months, I have something basically done, and I'm almost too surprised to be suitably excited by it. It had been making me feel like I would never finish stitching it together, hanging over me like the big black vulture of doom. But it's more than finishing a fic, because this is finishing a world, wrapping up the plot that's been ever-evolving in my head for the last three years, and while I'm more than glad to have got it finished, it's also slightly sad in a way.

Of course, I still have to edit the crap out of this thing, especially the later parts, because the earlier stuff was edited muchly as I went along, but that painful process can wait until another day!
tiggymalvern: (what world?)
Before lunch, I finished the section of my WIP that's been dragging its leaden boots through mud in my skull for weeks.

While I ate lunch, a Townsend's warbler came to my bird feeders. I've never seen a Townsend's in my garden before, and it was bright yellow and pretty in the very grey rain.

This evening, I got my hunter character to level 50 in LOTR online (and for all you players of WoW and such out there, who are used to 60 and 70, 50 is the LOTR limit).

Tomorrow, I get to go to the dentist, and take the car for a service, and other such tedious things. But not every day can be such a good day. And right now I'm going to bed, which always makes a Very Good Day indeed :-)
tiggymalvern: (good to be a lunatic)
Last night was Japanese movie night over at [livejournal.com profile] mamishka's, one live action and one anime.

Recs and reviews )

On another note, I'm feeling entirely pleased with myself today, because I've finally finished a scene in my WIP. Which doesn't sound like much, until I point out that this Scene has been hanging round my neck for the last four months or more, wrapped around trips to the UK and Canada and other things in my life. The Scene is a more a whole series of scenes strung together through an afternoon and an evening that segue endlessly into one another, with parts of it that were just killing me, and the finished Scene is currently 19,695 words long. Which brings the entire fic to a little under 37,000 words, and means I've got probably 30,000 still to write, but it feels like a hell of a milestone to have got it done after so long.

And now, having been written in so many bits over so long, it needs one hell of an edit, but I'll give it a couple of read-throughs for fluidity and then move on rather than get bogged down in it. Again. It'll probably need more words to soften the joins.

None of which stops me being exceedingly happy to be done with it :-)
tiggymalvern: (the abyss)
So somewhat belatedly, after various irrelevant witterings, I finally get to make a post that justifies my gratuitous new layout :-)

Sands and El had an agreement. Now it's come due.

Severed

Fifth in the 'Wires' series, another short one, still smut, still language, but hey, where did all my ultra-violence go?
tiggymalvern: (god as lost as you - gif)
Now a trilogy in four parts - it's getting boring linking to the lot, so the previous fics are all here.

Only just over 10,000 words this time, less plot and more smut, which means most of it will make sense even if you can't be bothered ploughing through the previous 126,000. Still all the usual swearing, surprisingly little violence XD

Tangled.
tiggymalvern: (god as lost as you - gif)
More El/Sands Mexico fic - following on from Wires and Strung. Sands got what he wanted, but that doesn't mean he has to stop there.

58,000+ words, and hopefully fulfilling the quota of offensive language, blasphemy, violence and smut that a Mexico fic of any length requires XD

Frayed

Warning: My usual fandom American betas are snowed under with life business right now, so this hasn't been filtered by them - any stray Britishisms entirely my fault, and if you point them out, I'll gratefully fix 'em!
tiggymalvern: (bribe)
Just a smutty snippet that follows on from 'Wires'. Fairly plotless, so you don't actually need to know how they got there. But I did write 'Wires' to be largely comprehensible to people who don't know 'Mexico', and this really isn't, so if you don't know the fandom or the other fic, this is just so much drivel XD

I'm calling it R-rated, but that's a high end R.

Strung
tiggymalvern: (read you)
Post-Once Upon a Time in Mexico fic. Sands/El (purely because, as [livejournal.com profile] permetaform says, it sounds better that way XD).
No warnings, no nothing. If you're old enough to watch the films, you're old enough to read the fic. This is El Mariachi-verse, you know what you're getting!
65,000 words, or to steal a phrase from [livejournal.com profile] mistressrenet, 'Where'd all this plot come from? Where'd the porn go?'

Not up at my site yet, so I'm pointing you to the Demon Pit for now, sorry!

EDIT:

Site gremlin gone, here's the non-polluted link XD

Welcome to three months of my life XD

Back to the gratuitous V/W porn, NC-17 smut and swearing. This one's Renet's fault. We discussed it in email a long time ago now, and agreed on everything except for the minor point that I thought she should write it, and she thought I should. I caved first. Not beta'd by Renet this time, since it's kind of for her.

Mangaverse as ever.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Traveller

Yes, I stole the title. I'm not the first to steal that one, and since the original author's unlikely to complain, you don't get to either ;-)
tiggymalvern: (vashlife - Art by Celery Parsley)
It bit me over the weekend. Nico cast a fast eye of talent over it, thanks for that.
G-rated (yeah, it's a shock, huh?), angst (okay, not so much), set in TriMax 11 with spoilers for all that goes before.

Spamming up your f-list on multiple comms. )
tiggymalvern: (fuck)
I thought the word had at least got around this far. I thought I might have actually seen the last of dry anal sex and no prep with virgins. But no, it's back again in [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_challenge.

Oh, the pain. In every meaning of the word....
tiggymalvern: (give in hands - Art by Replica Heaven)
So, the title of this one has a few meta influences here and there XD. I set out originally to write something different from my usual fare, but then that whole deal I have with plot and angst got in the way a bit, and this is what fell out

The original prompt came from [livejournal.com profile] tameiki1, who's been waiting patiently (or not!) for the better part of a year for something to come of it. I do get there in the end. Anyway, anything in this fic that makes you squawk is most likely all her fault, 'kay? XD

All the usual warnings for sex and swearing, V/W NC-17. One of these days, I'll write something that isn't....

Something of a Departure

And having crawled away from the visiting relatives (read, stayed up after they went to bed) for a short period to get this out after the betas came in, I will now relapse mostly into silence, unfortunately. From Monday to Friday, I won't have teh intraweb available at all, oh woes!
tiggymalvern: (Default)
...if you like 58 go here. It's short, but sometimes that's all you need.

(I'm pimping this specifically 'cos I know there's very little overlap between my f-list and [livejournal.com profile] kleos_fic, and there should probably be more XD.)
tiggymalvern: (vw icon Art by Dunce Cap)
This one took rather longer than planned - kept getting distracted by other stuff. But even allowing for that, I'd been originally thinking mid-March!

Anyway, Asymmetry.

This is the sequel to Balance, and the first sequel my brain has dragged up all on its own instead of having to be prodded at by friends. No-one else I can blame this time, damn....

V/W, NC-17 for sex and language. Oh, yeah, and then there's bondage, since I'm still playing with the Balance themes. I know how much that'll distress you lot if I don't warn for it XD
tiggymalvern: (we're busy - Art by Amakawa Sarina)
The muse prize this time goes to [livejournal.com profile] andmydog, who gets a completely accidental Christmas meme prezzie because of it. Although I'm fairly sure this isn't what you had in mind....

W/V, NC-17, lots of naughty sex words - I really don't need to tell you lot this stuff, do I?

And yes, I've now set two completely unrelated stories in the same gap in the manga in TriMax 6. Suck it down, I ain't apologising for it ;-)

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

My WIPs don't have titles )
tiggymalvern: (vashprofile)
Okay, so I can drag the Vash essay together and make something coherent out of it, I'm pretty sure.

Now I have this minor problem of fic recs. Because, you know, I could rec quite a few fics where Vash and Wolfwood fuck each other silly, but that would have been a different essay. I know I can dig out some fics to rec that are about Vash's relationship with Wolfwood and are almost platonic if you squint at 'em right. But actual Vash character fics? That aren't dull internal monologues written by teenage girls on ffnet? I am hitting such a blank it's not funny.

Anybody? Help?
