In the spirit of getting the year off to a good start, what could be better than more gorgeous photos of more gorgeous men? So it seems like a good day for a review of another book :-)

The in-laws are gone! I am free! Which makes now seem like a very good time to review another book of male photography, in this case Dylan Rosser's Red.

Nudity Below )

Last week, I acquired for myself another book of male photography, David Vance's 'Heavenly Bodies'. This is my first exposure to this photographer, so I thought I'd pimp him to you :-)

Vance is an Italian photographer who grew up surrounded by Catholic and Renaissance imagery, and he admits these have influenced his sense of aesthetics regarding male beauty.

I don't suppose anyone who objects to male nudes is reading my LJ, but if someone arrived by mistake, there are naked men here, okay?

Read on for review )
tiggymalvern: (what was it you wanted?)
It strikes me that this journal has been far too lacking in hot guys for far too long, bringing disrepute upon its title. So, I plan to remedy this with a personal review of Bondi Urban, a book of the work of the Australian photographer Paul Freeman. With appropriate example illustrations, of course.

Nudity, my old friend! Where have you been? )

On an unrelated note, I've only received a comment notification for one of the replies made to my post from this morning. I'm assuming I'm missing other notifications too, so if I don't reply to a comment or query on a post in somebody else's journal, it isn't personal. Probably.
tiggymalvern: (pretty as a picture)
Just in case some of you haven't yet filled your quota of hot naked guys for the day (well, can it ever be full?), and especially for those of you not on the f-list of [livejournal.com profile] hidden_hero who introduced me to this amazing artist, I've been scanning some of the work from Michael Breyette's book 'Summer Moved On'. This man draws beautiful, toned men, yes, but he also draws beautiful art, and his use of light and shade and tone can sometimes distract me so much I almost forget to stare at the men. Almost.

Wheeeee!

My copy of Michael Breyette's artbook 'Summer Moved On' arrived today, all signed and numbered. This artist draws gorgeous gay guys with beautiful attention to detail, and light and shadow and skin tones that make me drool endlessly. I stare and stare, and I am very happy indeed :-)

Because there isn't a lot of crossover between this LJ and [livejournal.com profile] logophilos who tipped me off, and because such pretty stuff needs to be shared :-) I'm told it's a scene from a show called Dante's Cove, which I believe sucks, though obviously not completely....

You tube vid, and some way from work safe XD )

We just went to the (very nice indeed) seasonal dinner of local geeks. At the dinner, while talking about films, I bemoaned the fact that this afternoon we turned up at 1.05pm to see the 1.30 showing of Brokeback Mountain, and found a queue all around the corner and didn't get in ::sniff::

Geek 1: Which movie's that?
Geek 2: Oh, that's the gay cowboy movie.
Geek 1: Why would you want to go and see that?
Me: Well, let me see now....

How long has this geek spent prowling around the internet for bizarre things? And he's managed not to fall over slash? 0_0

The evening would have been better if we hadn't found a parking ticket on the car when we got back. We paid, dammit! We put our money in the box for our stall number! Go screw yourselves for your parking fine, bitches!
tiggymalvern: (fuck)
Someone on [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_daily just posted that notorious pic of Hisoka in shorts as A Good Thing.

I think I should die now before it gets worse.

My lovely friend [livejournal.com profile] kendokat commissioned the highly talented [livejournal.com profile] plnunn to do a piece of artwork based on my fic 'Facets'. The delicious results of this are now available. Mmmm, leather!Vash....
