Black Sails annoying anachronism

Black Sails, I love you, I do. But seriously - 'The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing'? In 1715? That is not the King James version. Even the standard text of 1769 still reads 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.'

I'm a bloody atheist and I know these things. How hard can it be for someone in the production to notice that they're using a translation from 1970???!!

Grrrr, aaargh.

Besides the early version is prettier, and makes a lovely hymn. "Lack nothing" -pshaw.

The King James version is inaccurate in many ways, and it may well be that 'I lack nothing' is a more literal translation from Aramaic. But the King James certainly went of its way to be poetic, and it's the correct version for English people to be using in 1715.
