The American Family Association are now supplying your free weekly dose of fun, dancing, semi-naked gay guys! Go get your fix while it's hot!

And seriously, people, if that's what you consider offensive in public, you needed to get out and go to a few more student parties. I'm just sayin'....

Thanks AFA, for five minutes of really HOT semi-naked gay guys! For a vid that they consider to be highly offensive it sure goes on for a while. I guess they want to make sure that we're sufficiently offended.

Seattle pride could use more sexy guys like that.

Oh, I'm sure they sufficiently offended a lot of people, with their appalling images of happy young people having a fun day out in the sun. I mean, things like that should obviously be banned!

They got the warning at the beginning right: I found that video highly offensive. That they would take such great footage and ruin it with such cheesy music... yeah, that was offensive all right. XD

I just found it funny that the AFA would use a vid that's so obviously intended to be positive, with the happy, infectious dancy little tune pointing out how much fun it is to be gay XD

Man, I have been waiting all day to be offended like that. I will have to make sure I go to pride this summer so I can be offended some more.

It's certainly the best dose of offense that I've had in quite a while - in fact, I was so offended, I had to watch it several times, just to make sure I hadn't missed anything :-)

Thanks for the heads-up. Some rocking hunks in that parade. Wish I'd been there.

I clickied back to the AFA's website, located the "fucking queers" story and used the opportunity to send an email to my congressman. Please, Lord, I hope it goes out under an AFA header, since by the time I got done composing, it had changed a bit from the suggested email. It has some of the same words, though. ;D

Dear Congressman,
I strongly urge you to support The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, better known as the “hate crimes” bill.

We need special laws designed to help better protect minority lifestyles. In a perfect world, people who choose to live lives that are not the lackadaisical Protestantism advocated by the majority should be able to count on being helped by those who advocate love, understanding and tolerance.

Unfortunately, in our current culture, it's most likely to be members of the Protestant majority who are causing the harm. Even just by saying nothing and letting hate go onward undeterred.

Should minority groups such as homosexuals, transgender persons, followers of smaller religions require special protection? No, if Christians really were Christian, no extra protection would be needed.

But since the first of the Lord's teachings that most Christians toss out with the garbage is "Love one another," we sadly DO need special protection.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Here's hoping someday so many Americans won't have to live in fear.

That was my first thought too - use the AFA's own site to write in enthusiastic support of the bill. Except for that minor point that I'm not a US citizen and can't vote. But wouldn't it be great if it was tracked back to the AFA website? And I'm so glad you wrote - you make so much sense, where the fundies can only rant and quote their favourite three lines from the Bible.

I'm highly offended that the video wasn't longer.

(and agreed. Personally, I find the likes of Paris Hilton and Brittney Spears far more offensive)

Well, I guess it's okay given that the same people probably want to ban Paris, and Janet Jackson's nipple too, right? Look, nobody can accuse them of bigotry then!

I was offended that no one took off their pants, but they made up for it by showing an IHOP sign.

Yes, I too was offended that after all those big red warnings, it wasn't even vaguely softcore. Why so little man-groping? I'm sure the AFA could have tried harder!

Utterly appalling. I feel I should comment on their website and ask for more. That made my morning, thank you!

I think we should all do that, and prove to them just how popular their latest campaign is ;-)

I just emailed them:
Thank you for posting the Gay Pride video. I needed a shot of hot gay guys having fun together and this totally made my morning. Can you let me know if you're posting any more because that was a really hot video and I'd love to see more.

Tee hee!

I just sent them mine:

I would like to thank you for posting the Chicago Gay Pride Video on your website. It cheered me up immensely on an otherwise very dull and rainy day - seeing a group of happy young people get together to enjoy themselves, dancing in the sun on a hot day was wonderful therapy. I've recommended it to all my friends.

If only the people in our cities could bond together this way and simply enjoy a piece of street theatre on a more regular basis, the world would be a much better and less violent place.

I wonder of either of us will ever get a reply?

I'm so offended, oh my GOD! Was EVERYONE in that parade wearing WHITE gym socks with BLACK sneakers? Ugh.

Well, they're from Chicago, I suppose one has to make allowances XD

I was offended by the rainbow-colored hot pants, myself.
