9pm, and we have light! And heat! And good things! Squeezing in 3 hours under the 5 days.

There was a crew working at the end of our street when we came back with our spoils from the chippy at 8.30, and we beeped them in a friendly way as we passed. Then as we sat there munching and drinking sake by candlelight and firelight, the Christmas tree lights came on! The guys didn't let me down!

Everything we've tested so far seems to work, apart from the SO's ancient and specially-selected monitor which turns on, then instantly off again. The food in the freezer is dead, of course (including my carefully chosen free range Christmas turkey :-( ) - it survived 3 days with ice, but 5 was asking a bit much. But POOOOWEEEERRRRR!!!!

Yay for power! Five days is harsh. I'm glad your house didn't suffer more damage than it did. To my shame, I have to admit that I saw people mention the power outage in Seattle, but never put it together with your LJ being quiet until I saw your post. Five days without power is stuff that happens to people on the news, not people I know! ;-)

The novelty does start to wear off after day 2-3 or so XD

To be fair, my LJ often goes quiet for days for no particular reason at all, other than I have nothing inspiring to share. I'm not one of the more loquacious denizens of this land!
