Weekend at the Hood Canal

I spent this last weekend out diving at the Hood Canal (the badly named fjord), and we really lucked out with the weather. When you book in July for October, you're going to get what you get.
Even when I left on Friday, the forecast was for Saturday to be lovely, and for Sunday to be cloudy with some rain. Fortunately, that delayed by a day, and Sunday remained glorious. The trip couldn't have been timed better.

Even if you had spent the day boating, it would have been enough :) Picture postcard gorgeousness!

I don't disagree :-) If the weather is glorious and warm and the sun is brilliant, spending a day out on the blue ocean in a boat is very much an end in itself. It just so happened that we'd paid to dive and brought all our gear, so we did :-)

It was! And now it's gloomy and raining again, but welcome to October. And I'm so happy we didn't have that on the trip.

What a glorious October day for a dive! The water looks so calm...beautiful. I'm glad you got a nice day before the rain set in again. :)

The water was really calm the whole time on the first day. On the second day, there was more of a breeze by lunchtime and it got slightly choppy, but nothing like as bad as had been forecast.
