I took a snowshoe trip to Franklin Falls from Snoqualmie Pass. The snowpack is melting fast this year - last year I did a snowshoe from the same starting point in the first week of March, and the snow level then was about the same as today. Unless they get some fresh fall up there, the ski season will be ending early this year.

Views along the valley on the way down what is a road in summer and a snowshoe trail in winter.

The creek that runs alongside the road.

Franklin Falls. A month ago the rocks around it were a solid wall of ice, but there's not much left of it now.

Heading back up the road on the return to the car.

A beautiful day, and I was glad to get out! I didn't make it anywhere in January - between some bad weather, the joys of having to refute debt collectors and other hassles, and then working extra days to cover for sick people, I didn't get the chance.

Beautiful pictures of snow! I'm very disappointed at all the snow we haven't gotten this winter. To date we've gotten snow three times but nothing more than three inches (that's being very generous) one time. We got about an inch of snow last night but most of it was already gone by noon today. Thankfully, the mountains have gotten lots of snow so we'll have water this summer.

Do you think you'll get to go snowshoeing a few more times this winter? If so, I look forward to the pictures :)
