Bobcat!

We had three young bobcats in our garden this afternoon! Two of them stayed fairly well hidden and only showed themselves briefly, but the third was kind enough to pose. They have black ears with white spots on, like a tiger :-)))) (The video looks a bit fuzzy because I was filming through a flyscreen.)

The coyotes come and go around here. Some years we see and hear them regularly, other years (like this year) very rarely. They seem to move their dens around the area.

Our list of mammals is pretty good - two species of squirrels, raccoons, opossums, mountain beavers, rabbits (okay, those are invasive eastern cottontails, not quite so good), coyotes, long-tailed weasel, black-tailed deer, Townsend's chipmunks, Pacific deer mice and now bobcats :-)
