Winterval came!

So we had a white Christmas! It started snowing around 4.30pm on the 24th, so we drove out to dinner and The Last Jedi in the falling snow, with the Xmas lights in town, and it was lovely.



The film was okay. Some good stuff, some utterly pointless stuff. You could see the writers thinking, 'Damn! We don't have anything for Finn to do this film. I know, let's send him off on a mission with just one other character we brought in so he'd have someone to explain the plot with, but the mission's going to fail, so it won't have any effect on the main plot, it will just eat up a lot more screen time! Yay!'





And then we drove back from the film at 10.45pm and passed the usual collection of about 10 cars piled up on the same bend where they pile up every time it snows. Because somehow the combination of snow, downhill and blind corner doesn't register in some people's brains. Maybe you should brake a little sooner, just in case something bad happened twenty feet ahead? Frankly, they all deserve what they get, and maybe they learn something for next time.

And then when we woke up this morning, everything looked like this. Pretty trees everywhere!


And it still looks like this now - wonder how long it will last?

I love walking in the snow, but since it was Xmas, we were mostly at home cooking and drinking and we didn't have to go anywhere. The main drawback is that today's supposed to be bin day, but with the snow they won't come.
