Hannibal fanvid - Choices

I didn't think there was any chance I'd get this made in less than two weeks between my travels, but I'm an obsessive little creature, and I only had to work 3 of those days, so I'm done! The choices of Will Graham - and the consequences.
It's a Hannibal fanvid, so warnings for blood and gore, obviously. Though not as much as I originally thought there would be.
I was listening to this song in the first few days after I finished my first Hannibal binge watch, and wondering what the hell to do with it - the lyrics are such an awesome fit, but the musical style is utterly inappropriate and peppy. I thought it would be a challenge to see if I could make it work. I still don't know if it works, but hey, I had fun.
I'm still having trouble believing Bryan Fuller made the Hannibal TV series. I mean, it's a live action mashup between Tokyo Babylon and DeathNote. Really. Season one is Tokyo Babylon, as FBI criminal profiler Will Graham meets the charismatic, cultured, polymath psychiatrist Dr Hannibal Lecter. Hannibal is charming, helpful, and also, as it turns out, a manipulative mass murderer. Bummer.
Will doesn’t just get crushed at the end of season one – he gets crushed, he gets mad, and he plots to get even. Because Will knows exactly what Hannibal is, and he hasn’t a shred of proof, so in season two, the series turns into DeathNote, as these two guys try to out-mindfuck one another. Clearly that’s going to end well for everyone within a ten mile radius. But it's just perfect for me :-)

Have you watched the Musketeers? My god the slash potential in that! (hint hint )

Date: 2016-06-19 05:13 am (UTC)Mads is awesome. The whole show wouldn't work if he wasn't so good at being creepy, but he can also be charming, both as Hannibal and elsewhere. (Have you seen him in much else? I love him in The Hunt, he's so sweet and tragic, and I just want to hug him). The hair department are very obviously at work there too - the more devious and manipulative he's being in any given scene, the more they slick his hair back and make him look truly reptilian. That has an unfortunate counter-effect, though, because it means whenever he's been fighting and killing people, his hair gets all mussed and falls in his face, and he looks so much younger and cuter, it's disconcerting. No wonder poor Will's so conflicted!

I took some out. There's more, but it wasn't what I was trying to say with this video. I suspect there'll be more in the next one...
The first season is about as slashy as any series about two guys bonding. The second season ramps it up a bit more. In the third season, the writers just said, 'screw it' and wrote it into the script in words.
Will: Is Hannibal in love with me?
Bedelia: (flowery speech, because Bedelia will never use one word when she can make it fifty.) Yes. But do you ache for him?
(Question goes unanswered.)
Or you could watch this silly youtube video about the slash, though it's full of massive spoilers, especially for the ending.

Have you seen any of the 'Are They Gay?' series? Some of them are on the nail funny, though almost the funniest thing about this one is in the comments: "i love how all the other installations are like 20 minutes digging for proof of gay where this vid is only 7 minutes cuz i mean... duh".
I haven't watched the Musketeers, though I've definitely heard about the slash potential. Unfortunately I haven't heard that it's very good apart from the slash, and over the last few years I've found a problem that has never existed in my life before - there's just too much good TV for me to watch it all. People keep selling me series that are critically loved, and unless I spend half my free time watching TV, I can't keep up. The list of stuff I have mentally queued up to watch just keeps on growing (no, I still haven't watched London Spy, but it's getting closer to the top of that list. I'll get there!)

You have now. It's beautiful and it's fun with some wonderful female characters as good and centered as the male ones.Tom Burke is very very good in this, and Capaldi as Richelieu is fucking perfect.
London Spy will make you tear your hair out, but it are the pretty :)
