Chapter Six - 'Semete ayumase yo ware ga aganai no michi o ' (Let Us Walk the Path to Redemption)
I had serious problems with this chapter. I wanted to scan it all. It's a long chapter and there's so much going on, and so much great art and all these little moments, and... anyway, I was good. Kind of. I kept it to under 20 :-(

Page 153. Vash in his head, running, as ever. To something or away from something?
Page 154. With the bolt through it, the Angel arm gun reverts back to feathers, and Vash's blank eyes suddenly have pupils again.
Page 155. First sighting of Elendira on the airship. Bitching about Vash XD
Page 156. Without the focus of the Angel gun, all that energy is just lashing out randomly.
Pages 158-9. Back in Vash's head again, and he's chibi!Vash soon after Planetfall. So cute! And so very sad and uncertain.
Pages 160-1. Then remembering July, and the aftermath, and having something of a downer on himself.
Page 166. Thinking of Knives with the Angel blade, and Vash struggling to control his own power, seen here as something really hideous, grotesque.
Page 168. Vash thinking, 'I'm sorry' over and over, fighting to haul back the energy.
Pages 174-5. Vash remembers being happy with all his friends in July.(Guy at the top has nicked Wolfwood's shades and cigarettes! XD)
Pages 176-7. Vash trying to shield Hopperd from the reanimated Midvalley's bullets.
Page 180. Elendira spikes Legato's bearer. It's probably best not to ask about the teeth....
Page 182. Elendira actually failing to look elegant for a moment XD. I assume it's the voice that tips Meryl off....
Page 184. Elendira fully repays Legato's Bearer for making her look less than classy.
Page 193. Wolfwood and Elendira have a farewell chat about the fate of humanity. If we didn't know they haven't met before, that look and smile of Elendira's would set me thinking ;-)
Page 196. The now fully featherless Vash lies sprawled in the rubble next to Hopperd, who wishes him a long and miserable life.
Page 200. Vash holding the hand of the now dead Hopperd.
Page 202. Chaos as Meryl finds Milly in the hospital. Those two are so cute!
Page 205. Vash and Wolfwood bury Hopperd and Midvalley. Love Vash's reaction to Wolfwood calling himself a clergyman XD
I do like the idea of Elendira saving everybody's asses. That's not something you'd expect to see too often! But mostly it's one very long chapter all about the Vash love. Which is fine by me :-)

And his view of what his Angel Arm powers look like, all grotesque and mutated--whoa, dude.
There's much more of that too, going on and on in his head.
I almost wish the manga didn't spell out Wolfwood's loyalties (to the GHG) so early on
I think it's really interesting the different ways of handling that. The anime went for the 'Who is that masked man?' approach, which is the more standard way of doing it. I think the manga approach is much more intriguing, actually, adding layer upon layer to him and his motivations as the manga progresses. You think you know where he's coming from and then it keeps changing around. He's a GHG, if a conflicted one. And then there's plotting and mutiny inside the GHGs involving Wolfwood, and then he's part of another group entirely and playing off all sides against the middle. I much prefer the pro-active, manipulative Wolfwood of the manga to the guy in the anime who's basically just doing what he's told to protect himself much of the time.

What I love most about Vash really is the way he keeps himself going. All this nasty shit keeps happening to him, and he has his bad moments, but they don't last. Every single time he pulls himself together and fights on. That degree of resilience is amazing, and he does it without hardening himself and becoming cynical.

Elendira appears for one panel in Trigun v. 3 (I think that's it, v2 in english) with Dr.Conrad, on the way to resurrect Knives.
