Chapter Four - 'KYOU HITO' (WICKED MAN)

Page 93. Vash in the ruins of July.
Page 95. Meryl screams as Vash's feathers reach her, and she too gets a dose of Vash-memory. It's all about the guns and the death....
Page 99. Wolfwood tries to get Milly to leave as Hopperd triggers the pre-placed explosives and everything starts to come down.
Page 103. Midvalley finds Hopperd lying on top of the rubble. Interesting that Midvalley had his chance to leave and has stuck around.
Page 105. Wolfwood's back, and it's daggers drawn again.
Page 106. I love that close-up on Wolfwood at the bottom when Midvalley calls him Vash's friend, all the lines round his eyes....
Page 107. And then feathers start pushing their way out of the rubble, and a whole giant wing....
Page 110. Midvalley talks to Wolfwood about their long-standing plan to get rid of both Vash and Knives. Midvalley's lowered his gun by now, but Wolfwood's is still right there.
Page 115. Legato arrives on an enormous crazy bike, driven by his Bearer.
Page 118. Midvalley looks from Legato to Wolfwood and makes his decision.
Page 119. Midvalley turns, ready to blast Legato.
Page 121. Legato freezes Midvalley and forces Hopperd to shoot him.
Pages 122. Hopperd screams 'STOP!' through the repeated gunshots as Legato smiles and blood splatters everywhere.
I really like manga!Midvalley. He's such a non-entity in the anime, he's far more interesting when he hates Legato and Knives and is plotting to bring them down. Pity he died right after we got to know all that really. Might have been fun to have him stick around a while longer.
