Why are men so bloody thick?

Last night the SO got pulled over by the police for speeding again. In exactly the same place he got nabbed last time. In the place I'd already told him I often saw police cars. In the place he's seen police cars lurking himself, driving past with me sitting beside him while he said, 'Oh, so that's where they hide.'

Sometimes I have to put real effort into remembering that he's supposed to be intelligent.

On the bright side, he might become friendly with the cops who pull him over so often. >_<;

FH does the same thing on a stretch of road that he knows is often patrolled. Just because he doesn't agree with the posted limit is *not* a good reason for him to go as fast as he thinks the speed limit should be.

Hee. And he thinks to do passenger side driving when I'm at the wheel. I've only ever been popped once and we've lost track of how many speeding tickets he's gotten!

I'm not going to bitch about people speeding, since I can't be found within the posted limits too often myself. I'm bitching about his stupidity in getting caught like that. Yes, the limit on that stretch of road is ridiculously low, which is why everybody speeds along it. But I break the limit there by exactly the same amount as the car in front of me, not by twice as much!

It's not an intelligence issue, it's a focus issue. Both times I've gotten tickets lately I was well aware (on some level) that it was an area where I needed to be careful, but I was distracted (being very late for a concert in one case).

Yeah, like the time in the UK the SO got a ticket for speeding past the fixed speed camera that was on his daily route to work ::sigh:: At least if you're running late, it's a decision to take the risk. I just wish he'd keep his brain on the driving please, while driving, it makes the rest of us less scared!
