Blergh. Need to work on colours tomorrow when LJ's hopefully got off its big fat hungover arse and fixed the goddamn colour choosers. Those pink links have really got to go.

I knew there was a reason I hadn't done this before....

Time to eat chocolate and shoot some aliens, I think.

Well, I know that. Until you click on the LJ-cut or hit 'reply' and then you see mine.

I was bored with the old one after nearly 3 years, and I should have been done fiddling by now if part of the interface wasn't broken.

We were thinking about going to see a movie (Golden Flower) but can't decide if we're too lazy or not. Any interest in the house of Tiggy?

I was trying to talk the SO into going to a film earlier, but he's in full apathetic mode. It's too late now for me to go and be back in time to eat with him, so no - wish you'd asked a couple of hours ago!

Glad DHK's feeling well enough anyway.

We were too apathetic a few hours ago, we were hoping that getting a third party involved would spur us to action. OK, another time.

I have to tell you how much I love that banner at the top, and OMG your icon! Made me laugh out loud, thankfully the fam knows better than to ask what I think is so funny, otherwise I would have had to try and explain and would have ended up scaring them.

The black and grey looks much better than the pink.

Hee! When I'm done, I intend to have the most cheese-tastic layout on LJ. Then it will only remain to be seen how long my eyes can stand to look at it XD

The banner's almost come out like I wanted it - I'm not really happy with Vash, but Vash is always a nightmare to colour, with the hair and the coat. I much prefer colouring Wolfwood!

And much as I adore Rodriguez, every time I screen capture those films I curse him. He films so many scenes dimly lit and/or incredibly contrasty, so that everything has to be differentially adjusted in brightness and hue to lift it out of the background at small sizes. After doing that banner and a few icons, it'll be a while before I'm willing to look at a polygonal lasso again....

*Nods dumbly and smiles* Um... Okay? All that stuff about pictures was way over my head, but Tras says that it's a pain in the ass so I'll just offer my sympathies and tell you it looks great. Lol

Ah, I remember the good days when I knew nothing of photoshop - now I know just enough to get me into trouble!

Mostly it means I had to draw round everything with a mouse - people, guns, those bullet-shaped outlines, often multiple times. Not recommended as a form of entertainment XD

Alien hunt

...and several cute, green little creatures lie dying near the roadside. One last little bugger is still gasping for breath (oxygen or something else?), blackish blood bubbling up from the gaping hole in its chest. Bits of chocolate melt on the creatures skin, drawing ants and mice that would otherwise have ignored the alien bodies...

Hello, how are you? : ) Had a good Christmas and New Year? I can't see your banner at all, it's almost entirely covered by the posts. Weird journal. I should check my own I suppose.

Mm...what was my password again...

Anyway, happy new year and see ya!

Ants? Heck, no! I collect those alien corpses carefully and lovingly sell them on ebay for a fortune XD

Good to hear from you! Hope you're doing well, you should stick your head into this little e-world more often. I promise I won't shoot it off :-)

You're the first person to report that problem - I was going to invite issues once I'd got the journal finished, but the basic layout wasn't going to change from this. What screen resolution and what browser are you using? It'll probably be specific to one or the other, but I don't know if it'll be fixable without making it look ugly for everyone else.

Screen resolution...no idea. it's pretty high. My browser's ye olde Internet Explorer.

I want to update and browse journals, I really do, but somehow I always get sidetracked. Broke up with BF during Christmas, which sucks, and I still don't have a proper job, which also sucksand makes me whiny.

But aaaah, the fandoms! I just got introduced to Torchwood, which I love, I adore Death Note and Shounen Onmyouji, and Battlestar Galactica, House and Supernatural keep me busy both watching and reading fanfic. Although I hate House slash. I love House because it has the perfect combo of snark and doctorism; everybody can write pr0n but to combine it with medical puzzles is a lot less easy.

Anyway, I'm planning to show my head more often, so see you soon!

byez!

Ah, this seems to be an IE issue - I even updated to the latest version, and still the comments obscure the banner. Clearly the coding that moved the boxes below the banner was designed with Mozilla in mind.

I think I might know how to fix it - I'll give it a try. Meantime, this is what the banner should look like:

Should be fixed now - let me know?

I found Torchwood a bit of a disappointment. Great cast, good premise, but some of the eps were very weak - faeries? Fight Club? Too dull. There were a few real standouts, but given they had all that time to plan and only 13 eps to write, I felt they could have got a higher quality overall, you know?

The start of this season of BSG was just outstanding ep after outstanding ep - some sheer brilliance in there loved it to bits. Death Note's great till it jumps the shark, but it's a damn good ride while it lasts. And House, of course, is just perfect snarky delight :-)
