I've cheerfully been acquiring things for myself for years, and will continue to do so with zero qualms. I just always felt that sending something I got for free wouldn't be the best kind of present. But you know what? Screw that. My friends and family would really like it. If they have to see the free version instead of the officially purchased version, they'll like it just as much. Fuck pandering to capitalism.
