It really is.

I love the happy smiling Soujiro to "Happy go lucky!" And Asuka, with the "I'm just happy to be alive!" part. So wrong. So good.

Oh! Do you recognize the anime with the two guys - looks shounen-ai - where the one guy nails the other to the cross with glass shards then whips out the sword? My interest is well and truly piqued on that one.

Doooood, that is 'X' and you really need to see it. I can't believe you haven't! Who has been failing to inform you of the anime shounen-ai? The manga, of course, is even more so and also has the two lesbian minor characters who didn't make it to the anime as lesbians.

I have X DVDs but I also have as downloaded subs for burning if you should want them....

I started watching Kenshin, and gave up after the first four eps - very het, and too much with the cutesy kids. I've seen the prequel OVA since, which I love. I've been told I should start watching Kenshin again from the Kyoto arc, and I've actually downloaded a few eps, just haven't got round to watching 'em.

By some strange turn of events, after bemoaning my lack of a DVD burner for the last year or more, I've acquired two within the last few weeks. Now you've given me a good use for them XD.

There's a good mini-arc about eight episodes in (Kanryuu), and another at roughly episode 20 (when Katsu shows up), but no, the second season / Kyoto arc is when it stops sucking. And immediately after the Kyoto arc the suck returns tenfold...
