Nah, it's just that I hadn't checked out the Trigun vids added to animemusicvideos.org in a few months, so there's a bunch of new ones. Most of them are lousy. I should probably do the run-through a bit more often so it doesn't completely numb my brain splurging on the badness all at once....

I'm fairly thorough with Trigun. I download everything purely Trigun that scores over a 3. Yes, even the C&W. Not that those ever last long.

I hear your pain, sister. Wolfwood's death scene dragged on quite long enough the first time around. By the fiftieth AMV showing the same clips in the same order, it's growing major mould in my brain. To be honest, very few of the AMVs I download make it as far as the thirty second mark.

Tiggy's most basic rules of AMVs:
1) Do not use fansubbed source. If you absolutely must, chop out the subs and go for the widescreen look.
2) Watch a lot of AMVs. And then use the clips you've seen 100 times very sparingly and cleverly.
3) When you're streaming video, the comparative bandwidth of the sound is minimal. Do not compress the music into an abysmal monotone.

Anyone breaking these rules generally scores an instant 2. I am harsh and judgemental.

Everyone has to do the learning curve, but there are limits to my patience for that stuff. Too many teenage boys vidders fail to realise that a vid's supposed to say something, and just pick random clips to music they like.

Lip synching can be grossly over-used and become dull as hell in itself. Yeah, good tech skills, now can you actually make a real AMV please? [/bitch]

Oh, good lip-synching can be killer comedy, and awesome drama. But like all things in vid-making, it's the timing and the thought that makes it, that's the difference between 'meh' and amazing, not its basic existence.

The really good vids with great music can make the best clips remain affecting even on 50th viewing. Most vids just aren't that good. And nor are some of the clips. The animators made some choices I thoroughly dislike.
