Hiking the First
Aug. 17th, 2024 06:46 amSeven weeks after catching covid, I went for an actual hike yesterday! Only a short one, 2 miles each way, with a little over 1100 feet of elevation gain. It's the shortest and easiest thing that I actually call a hike as opposed to a walk.
It was fine. I went my usual pace without stopping and made it to the top in a little under 45 minutes. I did pant hard, but only as much as I expect to when I haven't been hiking for some other reason, like winter. There was a point near the start when I felt very slightly light-headed, but I carried on and it went away and never come back.
No photos, because there was a high overcast with flat, grey light that makes for very boring photos, and I have a ton of photos of Rattlesnake Ledge from previous visits. But next week I can do something better!
