Serenity (no spoilers)

I'd geared myself up to be disappointed by this - there were too many compromises for Joss to make, too many pieces of information to be rehashed for the newbies for me to think it was going to be a fan's film. But Joss is just so damn good at this. The infodumping was kept to the minimum to be effective, it was broken into tiny chunks and wrapped up in interesting ways. It just didn't ever become intrusive and never felt like wasted movie time. That is consummate story-telling technique on display right there.
I'm kind of disappointed that certain plot developments have curtailed the potential sequel I would have wanted. Ah well, some things will remain a mystery.
I love Kaylee.
And Joss - that was mean. Really mean.
