The worst thing about having a cold...

...is when you drive to the pharmacy to get some drugs to let you sleep without a snotty nose and somebody rear-ends you on the way.

Note to 17-year old blonde girls driving Daddy's BMW - you might want to stop for the pedestrians at the crossing when all the other cars do. Preferably using the brakes.

*huggles* That sounds terrible. I hope you and the SO (assuming he was in the car) are all right. And that the car isn't in too bad of a shape. Did you go get checked out? At the least, some muscle relaxants for tomorrow would be good.

You're the second person I know of to have been rear-ended this weekend. WTF?

Ouch--I'm glad you're okay!

Some advice from the police end of things--check with her insurance company and make sure that she gave you real info and actually does have updated insurance. If she gave you fake info, you have 48 hours from the accident to call the police to file a hit and run police report. If they just don't have current insurance, then it could get really messy if they refuse to pay...

Don't want to be a downer, but as a recent transplant, thought you might like the tip. Hopefully you won't have to use it!

My insurance company said they'd get straight onto hers immediately after I reported it, so I assume they'd have got back to me if there was a problem with the info. I'm talking to them again tomorrow anyway about the repairs, so I'll check then. But thanks!

Nah, just me all on my own with a shaking, weeping teenager XD

Didn't bother with a doctor, never have done before and this is the fourth time. And nothing like the hardest.

Okay, if you say so. Did you ever get the cold medicine after all of this?

Oh yeah - I wasn't coming back without it! XD

Lol, if it had been me, I would have forgotten all about the drugs until I got back home. Glad to see you've a much better memory and poise.

I hope you feel better soon.

Well, since the kid was a red-eyed, shivering wreck, I had to be the organised one and lend her a pen and make sure she got all the details of mine she needed as well as me getting hers. I even ended up staying with her while her parents showed up, 'cos I would have felt bad driving off and leaving her weeping parked by the roadside.

Sadly, I've done this crap often enough now that it just doesn't fluster me any more!

At least she didn't seem determined to blame you for everything. Last car accident I was in, that's what happened to me - even though the guy clearly crossed over into my lane.

Oh, yeah, we've met those lying bastards too - twice. One time we had a witness, the other time she finally backed down when we threatened to take it to court and make her commit perjury. Bitch.
