POOOOOWWWEEERRR!!!!!

9pm, and we have light! And heat! And good things! Squeezing in 3 hours under the 5 days.

There was a crew working at the end of our street when we came back with our spoils from the chippy at 8.30, and we beeped them in a friendly way as we passed. Then as we sat there munching and drinking sake by candlelight and firelight, the Christmas tree lights came on! The guys didn't let me down!

Everything we've tested so far seems to work, apart from the SO's ancient and specially-selected monitor which turns on, then instantly off again. The food in the freezer is dead, of course (including my carefully chosen free range Christmas turkey :-( ) - it survived 3 days with ice, but 5 was asking a bit much. But POOOOWEEEERRRRR!!!!

We weren't without heat, since we have fires, and fortunately I've always loved playing with fires and have spent a lifetime deprived of the opportunity to do so XD But the kind of heat that works without attendance is definitely easier and more effective!

I wonder whom I could get to drink sake with me by candlelight...)

Well, I'd volunteer your husband as the first choice ;-) It was warm sake too, since we had the ability to heat things on the stove. Very pleasant!
