Guess what?

There I was driving back from the post office this morning, when I stopped at a crossing for a lady with a dog. And the 17-year-old girl in daddy's car behind me didn't. That's twice in nine months, same scenario, might as well have been the same teenaged bint. It happened to me once in Britain in 15 years.

I swear, a donkey could pass the US driving past, and many of them clearly do.

In other news, the wind's been gusting up to 50mph all day and the house is being shelled with bits of tree. I have quite a collection of firewood accumulating on my lawn and balcony.

Damn! Are you OK?

The wind storm was pretty crazy here as well, they almost closed 520 as the winds were gusting to 40 MPH, and it's supposed to be worse tonight. At least we got our electricity back!

Eeeeeeeeek! What do these teenage girls have against you, anyway?

Hey, we're fine, and so's the house. There are advantages to a big sheet metal roof - if we had tiles, we'd be replacing a few! Tomorrow I just need to take the chainsaw to the debris XD

According to accuweather, tonight will be fine (which fits with the calm now) but Thursday night will suck again.

You had no power? Ours glitched for about 5 seconds this am, but nothing more.

Maybe the fact that I call them bints XD But I wouldn't do that if they'd look at the freaking road in front of them!

For at least a few hours we didn't have power. DHK got home at 6:30 and it was out and didn't come on til 8:30pm. Calvin isn't saying when the power went out but Rose certainly enjoyed creeping around the house in the dark.

But donkeys don't make such big dents, I'd assume... That's some bad luck indeed. :-/ Your poor car!

Should be a rule: if you can't afford a car, you can't drive one.

Amazing how much more careful people are with their own shit...

Well, donkeys would almost certainly be more alert to what's around them, but I think they could still leave quite a dent! I'll probably pass on car vs equine, those can be really nasty....

Home to no internet! Woes!

Hey, I drove dad's car through 5 years as a broke uni student and never dented it! But I took a driving test that people actually fail, regularly.

How's the car?

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2006-12-18 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Cosmetic damage, not structural, so we can still drive it. But how dare that bitch bend my baby! Not to mention the attendant annoying hassle.
