Boggled

With my current WIP just past 30,000 words, I have now written over 100,000 words of Mexico fic.

Previously, I had considered 60,000 words in a year highly productive by my standards, and I've not yet hit six months 0_0

^__^ Don't you just love it when a fandom utterly sucks you in and you just have to keep writing it?

I actually have kind of mixed feelings on it. Because while you can't ever beat that initial 'OMG, so shiny!' fannish squee, all that time has to come from somewhere. And I didn't think I had any going spare....

Meh, look at me, minimum of two jobs, sometimes three, boyfriend, apartment and cat, best friends who insist on dragging me out for drinks and venting, and I believe in the past two months I've written... gah, 80,000 words to FFVII so far! W/ a chapter of another fic in there as well. I certainly don't have the time and I don't think I'm writing as much hour-wise any more because of it but when it's something I really enjoy, I can get the writing done much, much faster. It just flows onto the keyboard and that's a wonderful feeling.

Heh, yeah, it's never really like that for me. It stutters, rather than flows XD

But I would find that dull, so I wouldn't write at all.

If you want that, you'll have to find the right one to hook me on! ;-)

It's slowed off a bit with Other Stuff going on, but it still progresses!

I guess you're a bit busy with the law thing to be doing much on yours?

I am in total awe. XD

I want to know who hi-jacked my brain, because this just isn't like me!

I am in awe. I couldn't even jump into the drabble game that just made the rounds, as I can't get my mind around 100 word bits at a time. Go, you writing thing, you.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I can't write to order. Ever. I never take on challenges of any kind, because I can't imagine racking my brains desperately for inspiration, as opposed to writing when I happen to feel inspired. People who can turn out something half-decent to other people's specifications really floor me!

Go you! I'm excited that there will be more Mexico fic from you - will it be a continuation of the last bit or something new?

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm continuing on. I had a nasty feeling by half way through Wires that it wasn't going to end where I'd planned it to, and it didn't. So now I get to have fun playing with Sands POV *eg*

...that is a really, really long fic. o_O

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, so far it's two fics. And two more on the way. It refuses to be neatly contained XD But for someone whose previous longest effort was 27K, this came kind of out of the blue, yeah....
