Fic, and a half-decent length this time

Back to the gratuitous V/W porn, NC-17 smut and swearing. This one's Renet's fault. We discussed it in email a long time ago now, and agreed on everything except for the minor point that I thought she should write it, and she thought I should. I caved first. Not beta'd by Renet this time, since it's kind of for her.

Mangaverse as ever.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Traveller

Yes, I stole the title. I'm not the first to steal that one, and since the original author's unlikely to complain, you don't get to either ;-)

Hey Tiggy,

Just thought I would swing by . . . are you or are you not at Yaoicon this year? I'm sorry but I really don't know . . . obviously I am not, having too many other things on the table to deal with at the moment. Not bad . . . just stuff.

I was just thinking about last year and how enjoyable most of it was and was really just wondering about everyone I met.

Hope things are going well for you. Catcha soon. Yes, I shall actually post more often . . . thought Halloween would be the perfect kick off of sorts. ;P

Oh, yeah, I'm at the con - most of us are back here, plus some extras XD

You've been awfully quiet of late, so it's good to hear from you. Hope you get the time for the good things in life back soon!

There had to be some recompense for all those awful virgin!Vash stories. Plus, it actually makes sense for Wolfwood as long as Vash gets to him before Midvalley does. And thanks, it's an awkward balance between hot and realistic with virgins!

Yeah, I spotted that after it went up. It'll get fixed at some point, when this damn hotel internet connection isn't cutting in and out - apparently wireless in every room means as long as you're not on the top floor, in which case cross your fingers for the signal strength.

Mmmmmmm! I love your description of Wolfwood's body *____________* I feel that Vash and me, we both have the same taste *¬* I read your notes...that means that Wolfwood was almost fifteen in this fic?? Interesting! Because of that, he looks so inexpert! But love his determination for get his Vash there and now!XD
Grrrr....I need a Wolfwood here, and now! >________<

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-30 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! But it really isn't hard to make Wolfwood sound hot - I think most people who like guys have a taste for Wolfwood build XD

Wolfwood's age is never specified at any point, so we can't say for sure. Given the anime/manga style for drawing kids young-looking, I personally assume a year or two older, but not much.

Very good, I love the way you have Vash constantly analysing his actions, you really get his inteligence down perfectly. You also write his 'mask' well too, it's definatly that happy-go-lucky Gunslinger we know, and that edge of darkness you have, with the hygene and so forth, is perfect for Gunsmoke. Wonderful atmosphere and very hot description, good stuff!

Vash strikes me as someone who's incurably nosey about everything. Like the way he just presses the button on the mysterious box in Max 11 XD

I know I'm writing fantasy sex, but I do like to hang onto reality somewhere along the way. Plus, I like a black humour aside now and then just to save it all from being too perfect!sex, which I hate.

Thanks for the lovely feedback, you always give good detail :-)

More than glad to take the blame on this one, thanks. XD

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-31 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
And you only had to wait about a year XD

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2005-11-01 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
So worth it though. I love how Vash sloooowly moves toward realization but never quite gets the full horror reality of it.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-11-01 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Not till considerably later, anyway. I've got half a mind for a companion drabble that goes there.

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
I'm down with that plan.

The story was absolutely brilliant. In fact, all of them are. Thank you for writing them having sex in full colour gorgeous verbiage. I've been craving Trigun fanfiction for a very long time, but have remained under a rock.

If you want to check out what/who I am/do, it's better if you go look at [Unknown site tag]. This journal's mainly for RL meetups and friendslist readings.

I meant [livejournal.com profile] tintenfic. Sorry about that.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2006-04-06 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, thanks! These guys deserve so much to have something good, something to hang onto among the misery, and without question the best thing they have is each other. How could I not give that to them?

Hey, why are you hiding all your fics away in your journal where people don't get to see them? You should be pimping them all over the Trigun comms! You write with beautiful subtlety and lovely metaphor, all those little scenes that just catch a moment and a feeling. Seven + Zero in particular is wonderful stuff. Spread it around!

[identity profile] squidlet.livejournal.com 2006-04-06 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
No, thank you. For writing, that is. I think what you said is right, about having each other, but for me they are also the worst thing to happen to each other at the same time.

Haha, I meant hiding under a rock as in I never went out to hunt down VxW comms to read the fic. My stories: well they're never quite enough, or quite right for public consumption. You could try [livejournal.com profile] starlighter, who is the other (better) half of the writing duet.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
They are in some ways, but for all that, I don't believe either of them regretted it, or would have changed anything. Certainly not in the manga.

Believe me, your stories are so much better than the crap some people will grandly publicise XD I followed the link from your Desert Biology to [livejournal.com profile] torotoro's fic - I assume from the tuna references, they're the same person?

[identity profile] squidlet.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
It's basically how even though some bad things happen you wouldn't want it any other way. Yeah.

Thank you, I'm flattered. Yes, she is. Desert Biology the series is a personal favourite of mine. It's not true to either canon (as I found out recently), but it really shows how tuna and I work well together and apart.
