Kuro Birthday post
This is Kuro, who was nineteen years old sometime this month. Who knows exactly when?
Curled up in his cat bed in a box this morning.
Stretched out in the sun this afternoon.
He has slept on my bed every night I've been home for eighteen and a half years.
The six month old kitten we brought home from the cat shelter.
With his 'brother' Sigguros Boog who we adopted at the same time.
Both of them on my lap.
A very handsome boy in his prime!
With the world's most fabulous tail :-)
Enjoying the warmth of the fire during a power cut.
Inspecting Neko, one of the new void creatures we brought home after Boog died of cancer at 13.
The new creatures significantly outgrew him! Sharing a blanket with Neko this afternoon. (Kuro does not always enjoy sharing a blanket with Neko because Neko is a sprawly bed hog.)
Kuro has been a series of medical disasters, developing inflammatory bowel disease at 6, haemolytic anaemia at 11, having major jaw surgery to remove a tumour at 13 and his kidneys have been slowly getting worse since he was 16. He's a skinny old man now who lives on seven different medications, but he's still here!
