More from the Snow
I'm still chasing the last of winter while it's impossible yet to chase summer instead, so I went snowshoeing again on Tuesday.
I snowshoed the trail that follows the shore of Lake Keechelus up at Snoqualmie Pass.

The northern end of the lake was frozen.

Further south, there was more open water.

For some of the route, I was snowshoeing along the edge of the cross-coutry ski-ing trail. There were more skiers than snowshoers out that day, which was fine by me.

At other times, I was parallel but more distant from the ski tail. Picking their own route not so much of an option for them!

At one point I took a marked side trail up through the trees. But not too far. Did I mention that I'm a lazy snowshoer? Going uphill in snowshoes is hard work.

The forecast had been for partly sunny - I didn't get that, but overcast was fine, especially given the heavy rain I drove through getting up there! I could really tell how much warmer it was than my last trip a couple of weeks ago though - I took my gloves off and opened up my collar ten minutes in.

For the past three or four weeks, every Thursday we've gotten snow. Then, in the next few days it melts until Thursday hits again. This week we're supposed to see temperatures in the 70s...and then expecting snow on Thursday. XD

At least your snow is being consistent - everyone can predict the arrival of Thursday XD Our weather is typically all over the place too - the temperature doesn't vary much, but it can be pouring or sunny at any given hour.

I believe things may have warmed up since then? :)

It's hard to expose properly for snow when the sky's overcast - if you get the snow white, the sky whites out completely too. I needed some blue sky and sun to mix it up....
