TriMax 8 Chapter 4.1

Chapter Four - 'Dasshutsu' (Escape)

This one's a long chapter, and there's a lot of major slashiness really great stuff, so I've split the chapter into two the way Nightow did for the monthly releases.

Sumire found here for this part.

Page 103 (Sumire's p91). See? All about the vast quantities of Wolfwood love :-)

Page 104. I'd translate that second line of Legato's as "Do you have some business here?", but otherwise the dialogue's the same, with Vash struggling to speak, to warn Wolfwood about Legato.

But of course Wolfwood already knows, and inevitably he finds he can't pull the trigger. Wolfwood slowly turns the gun on himself, fighting Legato all the way, and Vash starts rattling at the door to his cell. Dialogue as Sumire.

Page 108 (Sumire's p136). Gun to his own head, Wolfwood yells, "Now, Tongari!!" and there's a blast of light as Vash Angel arms his way out of the cell.

Page 109. Legato screams out as he concentrates, and Vash collapses unconscious. (I assume that's the only way Legato actually got any sleep in the last seven months....) But that releases Wolfwood, who takes his moment to finally give Legato that long-deserved bullet.

Page 111 (Sumire's p99). Legato lies in a spreading pool of blood, but he's still conscious, and Wolfwood's gun turns on himself once more. He screams, and Legato is splattered with more blood.

Page 112. Wolfwood staggers through the Ark, carrying Vash and dragging the Punisher, leaving a trail of blood all along the clean and shiny floors. Livio waits for him up ahead. (We've all seen that shot of Vash's butt before, but that's no reason not to see it again XD).

Page 114. Wolfwood tries again to get Livio on side, appealing to his loyalty to the orphanage, but Livio says he has none. A cloud of thick smoke from one of the fires drifts across.

Page 115. Livio reaffirms his dedication to the Eye of Michael, and attacks through the smoke. Wolfwood dodges him.

Page 117 (Sumire's p105). Livio flips his guns around his forearms, and fires directly behind him. Wolfwood goes down in a spray of blood, but he's already reaching for the Punisher again.

Page 118. Chapel appears behind Wolfwood, very happy to finally get his chance at revenge. Wolfwood swivels the Punisher round, and fires a rocket at Chapel.

Page 119. Chapel barely manages to dodge the rocket, and he uses his Punisher to push himself into the air, pole-vaulting style.

Wolfwood fires up at Chapel, but his aim obviously isn't what it might be at this stage.

Page 122. Chapel shoots Wolfwood, and he's thrown backwards down the steps.

Page 124. Wolfwood half-sprawled in a long trail of blood next to Vash. But he's still clutching that Punisher....

So I cut you off there because Nightow did. Lots of *cough* deep friendship male bonding to come tomorrow XD.

Oh my!!! This is when the worst moments for Wolfwood begins. Is hard to see him injured, and all that blood..But always fighting!! That eyes! And that first panel too...*drools*. In the middle of the danger, his gun in his head, he had the cold blood to call his Tongari. The last image is very dark and impressive. I think is the first time in the manga when we can see our heroes really injured. When I saw that the first time, I was frighten.
Pd: I love your icon!!! ;______; I miss wolfwood so much

Yeah, up until now the violence was - not exactly safe, in that they both had it rough back in TriMax 3 fighting for the Seeds ship. But we knew they weren't going to die then. Now, as things hot up, and with the whole planet going to hell, there is no safe and these people might die.

This volume is the volume that made me a complete V/W whore. It's the reason I started writing fic for them obsessively, and it's the reason I write them the way I do, because dude....

The icon's not great, but it's my first attempt playing with animated .gifs, so thanks!

T_____T Poor Legato...When I bought this a while back at ohayocon..and i saw this..I just about screamed. My poor lil' Coffin man...he needs a hug X3..*gives hug*

Have to disagree with you there - I think Legato was in great need of that bullet to the head, but I guess everyone needs someone to love them XD

he's spent the last seven months playing mind games with Vash, in an attempt (I'm assuming) to break him

I'm not so sure about that. I think Legato's job is mainly to keep Vash out of the way while Knives gets on with genocide unopposed, but either way it's still one hell of a feat. Vash has got to be a tricky bastard to keep pinned down.

Neat trick on Wolfwood's part, distracting him so Vash could use the angel arm.

Well, he's only using what he knows, because he saw the same effect when Legato was simultaneously trying to control both Vash and Hoppered. But he figured that out fast enough. He may not have had the finest education going, our Wolfwood, but he's smart enough when it matters.

He has a hell of a lot of faith in Vash, too. What he says about Legato probably being tired after seven months of mental battling is true, but it could equally well apply to Vash. And Wolfwood just walks in there and stakes his life on Vash coming through.

*giggles* Somehow, at 1 AM in the morning, that just sounds all kinds of deliciously wrong. ^_^

[identity profile] stickmarionette.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
...although when applied to Legato it's rather disturbing.

*thinks happy V/W thoughts*

Oh my, I think after this we NEED some deep friendship male bonding. Poor things.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Nightow really does like to make them suffer - he has an almost fangirlish mentality towards his creations! But then we know they make it up to one another later XD

[identity profile] wolfiesgirl.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
there are almost no words! i bow to you for providing me with my psycho!wolfwood fix and that very last panel is SO going to become an icon when i get time. and i would comment about that shot of Vash at the bottom of p.122 but it speaks for itself. I could write an entire fanfic around that one pose.....**scratches chin thoughtfully**

Bring on the bonding!

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, the italics are now all-pervasive in the comments to this post, for some reason - they will not go away! Freakish LJ thing....

Hey, Vash is unconscious in that shot, you can't really blame him for Wolfwood falling over him! Unlike that shot against the wall in the opener of the anime, the one where he really looks like he wants a blow job - I have a wall scroll of that one XD.

[identity profile] sara-tsuzuki.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
the one where he really looks like he wants a blow job - I have a wall scroll of that one XD.

XDDDDDDD Geeez!! I didn't think about it...but now, that image in my mind is corrupted! Virus ahoy!! XDDDDD

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he does! The way he's sitting and the look on his face say it all really XD And corruption, of course, is no bad thing ;-)

[identity profile] sara-tsuzuki.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)

XDDDDDD ...I want that poster..X__X.
Yeah, I didn't think about the feathers that way..mwahahahahaha...But now, I think in a fic about our dear Wolfie boy trapped by that...Da corruption is working!! XDDD

[identity profile] andmydog.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I have italic powers! Woo!

Damn. That first panel of Wolfwood, and the tagteaming Legato (I love the tagteaming. So much. Every time it happens it's just so *right*.)... and I love Nightow for bringing the pain.

More? More! Feed my addiction!

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
The way these two guys work together is beautiful. Every time, they really push the limits, and whatever crazy plan one of them is running with, the other one follows it and comes through. And they just assume it by now. It's long ago stopped being a surprise that this happens; they actively rely on it. So lovely to see....

And Wolfwood on that first page was just drawn to drool over.

But if they were warned, people might not see the sexy goodness, and what a DAMN SHAME that would be.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
I tried too last night. The magic worketh not! LJ has clearly broken this post in a protest against the appalling treatment of Wolfwood.

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I saw that after I posted. Hee!

Probably. Poor Wolfwood, it's only going to get worse...

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
No! It will get better first! There will be moments of sweetness and bonding on board ship, and 'Bastard! Why d'you have to get locked up for seven months? I was horny, dammit!'

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder if he holds Vash's hand when his arm gets sewn back on. XD

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing gay here.

This is nothing. Really. Teh gay comes in the next part.

And what's with Wolfwood and the gratuitious sexyness shots everywhere?

He just seems to look that way when he gets all blood-spattered. He can't help it. Not that you even need to see him, to be honest. I mean, I read through the plotline of the anime and knew that Wolfwood was fangirl doom....

[identity profile] r-chan.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hello! *waves* Hope you don't mind me friending you ^_^ I'm thankful for the scans and more over the greatness that they're being shared by another Wolfwood/Vash fan X3

As for this chapter... >_> *makes squee like sound* Wolwood is so awesome when he's being stubborn and just keeps on going! XDDD Can't wait until the next chapter *__*

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
Friends are unlimited and welcome, though it's always nice when the new ones say hello! And you have written Legal Drug fics - I will have to go play with those later XD.

Re your brand new MoB kick - you do know about the 3 recent OVAs that are available as fansubs, right? Good stuff, mmmm.

[identity profile] r-chan.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
Cool! X3 Ah, but a word of advice - if you're going to read the fics, I'd reccomend the FF.net versions since I proof read them a lot more carefully and thus they read a lot better XD

I have been told of the shiny new Mirage of Blaze OVAs! Good stuff you say? Hmmm XDDD *runs off to find*

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
You want me to go to Teh Pit? *shudder*

The MoB OVAs are, shall we say, a little racier than the anime. There is groping and neck-sucking, and Hayami Shou's voice to go with it ::thud::

[identity profile] r-chan.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
I swear Hayami Sho has one of the (if not the) sexiest voices ever in anime *_* I almost died when I first ound out played Wolfwood because he sounds so different XD (probably the kansai) and then I got Mirage of Blaze which just made things worse (in an unbelievably good fangirlish way) XDDD;;; I will find those OVAs!

Teh Pit...? >_>;;; my username on there is "R-Chan Aka Rwar-Chan XD" if that helps XD;

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I swear Hayami Sho has one of the (if not the) sexiest voices ever in anime

I would stretch that to just plain anywhere. Hayami Shou is the reason I watched Trigun in the first place, because Yami and MoB made me a junkie. He does sound very different as Wolfwood, because he's being so OTT a fair bit of the time instead of all cultured and refined. Even with the Kansai, he's very recognisable when Wolfwood is being contemplative and serious.

I could just listen to that man's voice when I didn't have a clue what he was saying!
