Family and Bear Rescue

The family aren't coming. Their flight was cancelled a second time, and they've given up. No problem with the weather this time, but the plane that was supposed to fly them out of Manchester at 6am didn't make it into Manchester last night for some reason that is now immaterial. Suggestions as to how two people can consume their way through a 12lb turkey will be gratefully received!

The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] iibnf usually sponsors a bear rescued from a bile farm on behalf of her f-list, but this year she is unable to do it. So for the fabulous person herself, and her f-list, and throwing in you lot here as a bonus, I am now sponsoring a bear. I'll let you know which bear as soon as I find out.

Well, we'll just have to entertain you in their place.

What a bummer that your mother and sister can't make it out this holiday. Are they planning to try coming back out a little later?

Mama-san always looks forward to the left-over turkey the day after. I make turkey enchiladas and it also freezes beautifully afterwards :)

Unlike usual when we have Italian for Christmas, this year, FH decided he wanted another turkey. So... turkey it is. And the enchiladas afterwards. Anything that you usually make with chicken, you can substitute the turkey for.

And I'm sure your two fuzzy kids wouldn't mind helping you with it. ^^

Hope you and your SO have a wonderful holiday -- even if it's with less people than originally planned! *hugs*

Agree with the 'freeze the turkey' idea. Could the rescue center take some?

Yay for bear!

Perhaps the bear would like to eat the turkey?

Commiseration on your xmas woes. I hope you have a good time anyway.

:(

That really sucks. ON the bright side, at least there aren't 13 courses to eat double portions of...

This is wonderful, best Christmas present ever!

Aw, sorry to hear that your family couldn't make it! It sounds like you'll find a way to finish the turkey. I'm curious--what is a Xmas pudding?? How do you make one?
