Some days are just perfect

When the whole day's in the seventies and you can jump into a convertible and feel the sun on your skin and the wind sweeping past and roaring in your ears. When you can drive through forest and mountains and beyond into rolling desert hills broken by the ancient scars of deep canyons and river gorges, watching the world unfold endless around you. When no matter how far you go or where you stop, you can never run out of things to see. When you can come home and wash off the sunscreen and soak in the bath with a drink and a good book.

Sadly, it's a bit broken now by the fact that it's my turn to cook, but it's still been a damn good day :-)

What a perfect way to spend a day! :D

Unfortunately for me, today was spent dealing with the first day of summer semester, getting off work late only to have to wait over half an hour so I didn't drown or get beaten to death by hail while running out to my car in a parking lot that was under water.

Wanna trade days and I'll cook dinner? XD

Hail? Urgh. It's almost June! Somebody really needs to train the weather where you live.

It would probably have been far tastier than mine XD The potatoes O'Brien got a bit burned along the way, despite me following the instructions, but neither of us claim to be cooks!

Heh. Depends on how you feel about onigiri and umeboshi. XD

Given enough time, I make a killer lasagne or chicken enchiladas or yakisoba or tempura or moooooooooo (teriyaki beef)... ;p

I can cook some things consistently well, but anything that need to be timed to the minute is usually doomed with me. I'm far too easily distractable XD

Ha! *points* That icon is great! Does this mean I'm a genius? I'll take that, evil or otherwise. XD

Not my icon, it's one of [livejournal.com profile] fuzipenguin's. It was posted to a public comm, so fully stealable with credit :-)

Of course, you're a genius, my dear, you're a friend of mine. It's a very exclusive club, you know ;-)

It is! It is! I just can't get bored living here.

Lunch in the sun is always a delight. And baths, damn, I don't know for sure which civilisation invented the hot bath, but they were true hedonists like me :-)

Oh wow. That almost sounds like heaven. I'd so give almost anything to do that someday. . .

I've always loved driving. Even when I was 19 and only had access to dad's elderly Volvo, I used to steal it for an hour just to drive across the moors or for the day and take it and run it over Hard Knott and Wrynose passes in the Lake District just because. Having a convertible in summer just makes it better :-)
