Gorgeous Carat - You Higuri

I bought many things at Yaoi-con, and among the things I was very happy to buy were two more volumes of Gorgeous Carat - the missing volume 2 I had been seeking for a while, and the recent Gorgeous Carat Galaxy. And I just cannot resist sharing some pictures with the world, because You Higuri's artwork is consistently beautiful and detailed and hot.

12 images, heavy bandwidth, PG-13 rated for sure, maybe an R? Damned if I can work this US system when it doesn't involve full on sex!

Damn, these guys even look good in a sewer.

And if she would draw these manga explicitly, I would be her slave, but as it is she remains a goddamn *tease*. Oh, but it's a good tease....

I can barely stop myself from licking the books. Damn, I love this woman's art. Hey, eveyone else's LJs are full of rightful misery and ranting. I figured something lighter wouldn't go amiss.

There are 5 volumes of this manga, and one or more of these guys gets chained up in every single volume. There are whips involved too....



The plots are pretty much the worst kind of melodrama, but seriously, who gives a damn about the plot?

These are no doujinshi, thankfully, these are manga, with translations online to take the strain off my Japanese, and the possibility that someone may get around to publishing them in English at some point for those who don't like the books and computer screen combo :-)

Dammit, Tiggy! When I flipped through this at Ycon, I saw it was pretty but didn't pay much attention other than to make sure your drool didn't hit our bed and now you go and do this. *sighs*

Before you pimp yet another thing at me (and I'm about 90% there on this one now), tell me something. Is this still ongoing in Japan or is the series finished already? If it's finished, how many volumes total?

Four volumes of Gorgeous Carat, then Eyes Comics folded and it resurfaced as Gorgeous Carat Galaxy at Birz Comics. As far as I can gather from squinting at Japanese, I gather there's definitely a second volume of Galaxy - beyond that I have no idea, but I suspect it's still coming.

The dialogue, yeah - like I said, it's melodrama, but hey, it works!
