Someone had a busy night....

Three dead rats lined up on the patio this morning, two of them quite well nibbled. Thank god they didn't bring them inside the house like they sometimes do.

Just think of all the money you must be saving in cat food :)

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
And all the money we spend on worming tablets and flea prevention!

:-(

Your icon freaks me out now.

He probably feels very purry about it XD. Usually it's him - sometimes it's the other one.

[identity profile] r-chan.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, I remember the 'presents' found in the morning very well XD Three in one night is quite an accomplishment though @_@

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
We're more used to one at a time - sometimes one over several successive nights, but still, not arranged in rows!

[identity profile] arafel.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
How sweet, you get kitty's leftovers!

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Nice of them to leave us the bits they didn't want, isn't it? XD Sometimes I get one left intact by my computer desk for me to find first thing, which I'm sure is very kind of them and all, but....

They were nothing like this murderous before we moved, but then we didn't have a stream running by the house before!

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
And your cat's at something of a disadvantage, lacking half the arsenal, poor thing.

[identity profile] imre-nico.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, like, actual rats? Not happy little field mice?

That's pretty impressive. Your cat is into big game XD Like Hemingway and shit, without all the shitty overwrought descriptive paragraphs.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, rats. Two of them were only half-grown, but one was a full sized beastie.

[identity profile] imre-nico.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Nice. Cause we get some good rats around here. You must be very proud.

But the rat corpses are intermittent - the boys are furry and purry all day long. I think it's a fair trade-off :-)

[identity profile] arafel.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
And the rat corpses mean they love you! They're trying to feed you!

Not that my landlady was pleased when Rudy and Sam would bring home bunnies and birds.

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
Thankfully they stick to rats here. They caught birds sometimes at the other house, and that was sad.

[identity profile] andmydog.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww.... good kitties! (At least they leave the bits outside)

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Only sometimes. Sometimes we have to wash the blood from the carpet.

Mmm. Bits.

[identity profile] andmydog.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine figured out that if she brought live mice into the house - more specifically, into my bedroom - then she could hunt and kill them at her leisure, without having to worry about them escaping. Also, this way she could show off her 2am leet hunting skillz.

Re: Mmm. Bits.

We've chased them round the house after the cats lost them under the furniture before now. On one particularly memorable occasion, we had a rat living behind the dishwasher and the fridge for several weeks after the bastard brought it in and let it go. Every time we put the dishwasher on, the kitchen filled with the aroma of heated rat shit. It was Most Pleasing.

[identity profile] tameiki.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
And you wonder why I love my dogs XD

They're good about chasing the bunnies off our front lawn but stop at the edge of the lawn and don't go any farther. We won't even mention that the bunnies are only a tiny bit smaller than our two fuzzy kids. :D

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
My cats walk themselves, and don't need a babysitter if we want to go out for the day or the weekend. I still think ours win! XD

[identity profile] tameiki.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, ours don't leave us dead rats as presents nor drag dead, bloody things inside over our carpets.

Ours wins! XDDD

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, I'm used to mopping up blood, and it takes about two minutes. I'll stick with being able to just hop off to Colorado for the weekend at short notice :-)

[identity profile] tameiki.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what my Mama-san is for: she baby-sits the grandpuppies. :D

Btw, do you have a firm agenda yet? :)

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I emailed you yesterday - am resending the pertinent part now just in case you didn't get it. If you didn't I can resend you the whole thing, and you can experience the joys of my ramblings too!

Cats that hunted as a pack? Wow, they must have been scary, mine are quite vicious enough as stalky indiviuals!

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-07 10:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there are plenty of littermates who don't do that. Also plenty of dogs who're scared of cats, given the effect of claws on noses XD

Jaguars are solitary animals, only lions out of all the cats do the group hunting thing.

[identity profile] sara-tsuzuki.livejournal.com 2005-10-10 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Rats?????? ewwwwww!!! My cat only hunt birds, mices ...and sometimes, little dogs XD She's so grumpy >_<

[identity profile] tiggymalvern.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
As long as they're little yappy annoying dogs XD

I always feel a bit sad when mine kill birds and mice - I'm so glad they're concentrating on the rats lately, because I don't feel as guilty about those! They're not exactly a declining species.

[identity profile] sara-tsuzuki.livejournal.com 2005-10-11 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah! XDDDD The first time my cat kills a bird...I feel so bad. I couldn't believe that she was my cat. Was so hard to admit that it was his nature. I cry for me and for her...ejem...for her bad karma!! u////////u
