Covid-19

There's a detailed article on the coronavirus situation here.

It goes over a lot of data analysis on coronavirus case numbers and mortality rates in China, South Korea and Italy. That data is then extrapolated into projections for the currently smaller outbreaks in other countries such as France and Spain and known affected areas of the US. It also goes over where and how containment measures have worked or failed.

Conclusion - if you live in an area with cases, you will help to save a lot of lives if you start practicing social distancing and self-isolating as far as is practical right now.

Maybe. Maybe not so much. When I went back to work today we were getting updated instructions every few hours. Spring Break was supposed to start week after next but the powers that be have decided to start it early so it'll start next Monday for two weeks. This should buy us time to get as many classes online as can be done. All community and student events (anything with over 30 people) have been cancelled. If we have to attend meetings even with less than 30 people, they're strongly "suggesting" that we sit no closer than a few feet and all travel has been suspended.

We live in interesting times....
