That data is then extrapolated into projections for the currently smaller outbreaks in other countries such as France and Spain and known affected areas of the US. It also goes over where and how containment measures have worked or failed.
Conclusion - if you live in an area with cases, you will help to save a lot of lives if you start practicing social distancing and self-isolating as far as is practical right now.
