A few Sherlock recs

So I (like probably around half my f-list, since you are all hand-selected for your good taste :-) ) have been poking around in fic for the BBC's new Sherlock. Here's a few that made an impression if anyone doesn't have time to go searching.

The Perils of Urban Warfare. Best one I've found so far. John talks to his therapist about Sherlock, and to Sherlock about his therapist. John here is his screwed-up best, knowing it, and coping just fine with his issues, thank you. Also some nice touches with Harry and Lestrade.

Like Bad Wallpaper. I find the stated timeline for this one to be straining past the limits of credibility, frankly, and it has a few annoying Americanisms that slipped through. But it's funny and sweet, and I like this Harry. And it has Sherlock at a wedding, dissecting the guests and saying Sherlock things XD

Europe, After the Rain. Short, atmospheric. Violates the accepted rules of POV as happily as it twists through time, but that works just fine for these two off-kilter people being twisted together.

The Trick Is to Make It Look Easy. Very dry, dark humour. Just how I like it :-)

Feel free to return the favour and point me at more!

Thank you - most of the stuff I've seen has been too short.

Yeah, the first one's also the longest I've found, I think. We just need to give it time, I suspect - anybody writing longer fic won't have had chance to finish it yet.

...since you are all hand-selected for your good taste...

Since I'm not into that fandom, nor have I seen any of this show, guess that I'm on the outside of your friends with good taste. There's always gotta be one, though, right? XD

Ah, that's not your fault - you simply don't tune into the latest vibes coming from England and the BBC with the faithful regularity that I do, which is not unexpected XD

Of course, you could take a look if you wanted to ;-)

This show sounds interesting! I could use something to get hooked on next week. Where can I find this? The show, I mean.

Yep, I've fallen for this in a big way -- I'm writing a post Great Game fic. It's slow going (since this is me), but it's never too early to ask: you willing to beta for me again?

I'd been planning a rec post even before I saw your plea this morning, so the timing was perfect :-)

Who could not fall for it? Seriously! And of course I'd be delighted to beta, when it's done :-)

It is awesome! Sherlock Holmes updated to modern London, where Sherlock doesn't have the cover of being a Victorian gentleman eccentric, he's just seriously weird and creepy XD

Currently there are three 90-minute films (more have now been commissioned since the critics fangirled it almost as hard as the slash crowd did). The BBC are releasing the DVD at the end of this month.

Aha! A fellow enabler!

"I don't want to shag you to prove a point to your brother."

More fic should have lines like that :-)

Sam SPECIALIZES in lines like that. He did the LOLcat-at-Torchwood one.

Ooh, I just read this wonderful thing: Space Travel (not a Torchwood crossover, though)

And a shortish one here, by [livejournal.com profile] basingstoke

Also, [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh is collecting recs here.
